- Participants will be updated on current practice guidelines in cerebrovascular disease management.
- Participants will understand trends in neurosurgical practice that affect both academic and private practice participants.
Invited Lecture-1 hour-Participants will be updated on current practice and future trends in neurospinal disease management by Dr. Paul Matz, University of Alabama-Birmingham
- Participants will understand recently published cervical myelopathy guidelines
- Participants will have understanding of spinal management guidelines process.
- Participants will be prepared to apply cervical myelopathy guidelines to their practice.
Invited Lecture-1 hour-Participants will be updated on current practice and future trends in neurosurgery economics by Dr. James Bean, President of the American Association of Neurologic Surgeons
- Participants will understand economic trends affecting current neurosurgical practice patterns.
- Participants will understand organized neurosurgery response to current economic trends.
- Participants will understand AANS educational offerings to assist individual practitioner in meeting these trends.
Scientific Session I-Basic Science- 3 hours
Participants will receive updates on latest research in spine, cerebrovascular, pediatric, tumor, functional, and peripipheral nerve surgery by presentation of abstracts from New England Area neurosurgeons.
- Participants will have understand of three recent trends in basic science of brain tumors.
- Participants will have understand of three recent trends in basic science of cerebrovascular anaomolies.
- Participants will have understand of three recent trends in basic science of neurospinal disorders.
- Participants will have understand of three recent trends in basic science of pediatric/peripheral nerve/and pediatric disorders..
Scientific Session II-Clinical Disease Management-3 hours
Participants will receive updates on latest research in spine, cerebrovascular, pediatric, tumor, functional, and peripipheral nerve surgery by presentation of abstracts from New England Area neurosurgeons.
- Participants will be updated on current practice in neuro-oncology.
- Participants will be updated on current practice in cerebrovascular disease.
