Invited Lecture-1 hour-Participants will be updated on current practice and future trends in cerebrovascular disease management by Dr. Robert Solomon, Chief of Neurosurgery, Columbia

    1. Participants will be updated on current practice guidelines in cerebrovascular disease management.
    2. Participants will understand trends in neurosurgical practice that affect both academic and private practice participants.

 

Invited Lecture-1 hour-Participants will be updated on current practice and future trends in neurospinal disease management by Dr. Paul Matz, University of Alabama-Birmingham

    1. Participants will understand recently published cervical myelopathy guidelines
    2. Participants will have understanding of spinal management guidelines process.
    3. Participants will be prepared to apply cervical myelopathy guidelines to their practice.

 

Invited Lecture-1 hour-Participants will be updated on current practice and future trends in neurosurgery economics by Dr. James Bean, President of the American Association of Neurologic Surgeons

    1. Participants will understand economic trends affecting current neurosurgical practice patterns.
    2. Participants will understand organized neurosurgery response to current economic trends.
    3. Participants will understand AANS educational offerings to assist individual practitioner in meeting these trends.

 

Scientific Session I-Basic Science- 3 hours

Participants will receive updates on latest research in spine, cerebrovascular, pediatric, tumor, functional, and peripipheral nerve surgery by presentation of abstracts from New England Area neurosurgeons.

    1. Participants will have understand of three recent trends in basic science of brain tumors.
    2. Participants will have understand of three recent trends in basic science of cerebrovascular anaomolies.
    3. Participants will have understand of three recent trends in basic science of neurospinal disorders.
    4. Participants will have understand of three recent trends in basic science of pediatric/peripheral nerve/and pediatric disorders..

Scientific Session II-Clinical Disease Management-3 hours

Participants will receive updates on latest research in spine, cerebrovascular, pediatric, tumor, functional, and peripipheral nerve surgery by presentation of abstracts from New England Area neurosurgeons.

    1. Participants will be updated on current practice in neuro-oncology.
    2. Participants will be updated on current practice in cerebrovascular disease.
    3. Participants will be updated on current practice in neurospinal disorders.
    4. Participants will be updated on current practice in pediatric/peripheral nerve/and pediatric disorders
