New England Neurosurgical Society
Annual Meeting
June 19 - 21, 2008Chatham Bars Inn, Cape Cod, Massachusetts
Dear Fellow Members,
I am pleased to announce the New England Neurosurgical Society will be having its Annual Meeting, on June 19-21 at the Chatham Bars Inn, Cape Cod, MA. The NENS Executive Committee has decided to change the format of our membership meetings. We have chosen to go to a once a year annual meeting, which will be held over three days instead of the past custom of having three meetings per year. The Officers and Board Members decided to make this change because we became aware of increasing costs and diminishing attendance at these meetings. We benchmarked solutions from other Regional societies and decided to emulate the Southern Neurosurgical Society’s solution. Thus, we invite you to the NENS Annual Meeting at the Chatham Bars Inn. The meeting will be incorporating CME credits, recreation, guest speakers, two scientific neurosurgical programs, a cocktail party and banquet. We will also ethically incorporate vendor support to keep costs reasonable and to help aid resident participation. We have also invited several of the spine instrumentation vendors to hold an afternoon educational session involving spinal instrumentation.
Please plan on saving the designated dates and plan on attending what promises to be an outstanding event. The annual meeting program is as follows:
June 19th 7-9 p.m. Cocktail Party
June 20th 8a-12 p.m. Scientific program
1-5 p.m. Recreation (Golf, Fishing, etc.) / Spine Course
6 p.m. Banquet
June 21st 8a-12 p.m. Scientific program
Rooms have been reserved at Chatham Bars Inn from June 19-22, 2008. Deadlines for registrations and abstract submission will be forthcoming in further communications.
Sincerely,
Gary M. Bloomgarden
President, New England Neurosurgical Society
